In the last decades, the duration of electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) or electric pulses (EPs) hasreduced from traditional millisecond and microsecond to nanosecond and even to the sub-nanosecond range.Such short pulses have been shown to produce a variety of cellular bioeffects, ranging fromelectroporation of plasma and intracellular membranes [Tekle et al., 2005], cell shrinking, cell swelling, nuclear DNAdamage [Stacey et al.,2003], intracellular calcium bursts[Vernier et al., 2003] and necrotic or apoptotic cell death to tumor growth inhibition [Beebe et al., 2002;Marie et al., 2012].Any nsEPs exposure is determined by a number of parameters such as the pulse duration, electric field intensity and pulse number.
