A series of hyperbranched polyethers (HBPEs) with phenolic terminal groups were synthesized through one-step polymerization using AB2 monomers with different lengths of carbon chain.Based on the GPC results, the polymerization reactions terminated after a short period of time (about 4 h), which is explained by the competing reactions between substitution and elimination reactions.
