Enhanced antibacterial activity of GO by embedded AgCl/Ag nanoparticles under visible light

  Nanomaterials with high optical absorption in the visible region applied as photocatalytic bactericidal agents are attractive therapeutic strategies(1-3).In this work,a novel graphene oxide(GO)enwrapped AgCl/Ag composites with high visible absorption is designed as an efficient antibacterial agent against Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli(E.coli)and gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus).Ag NPs formed on the surface of AgCl NPs in the presence of GO sheets,showing improved stability,stronger adsorption properties and more reactive oxygen species(ROS)under visible light irradiation.
