The development of new therapeutic molecules has accelerated dramatically in recent years. This is based on the success of genomic achievements which an expanding list of cellular targets and advances in combinatorial chemistry and new screening technologies. The growth of recombinant proteins as a class of therapeutic molecules has greatly accelerated in the past five years. For today efficient delivery this type of therapeutic compounds into cells in vivo can be achieved only when the molecules are small-typically less than 600 Daltons.Gene therapy is one of promising method for circumventing this problem, but conditions for high-efficiency targeting and long-term protein expression have yet to be discovered.Peptide-mediated delivery of hydrophilic macromolecules has gained more and more attention in recent years.Transduction of protein of interest into cells by the help of peptides can serve as a good alternative to other mechanism of protein transport and protein expression.
