Glycosylation of artemisinic acid (AA) was investigated using transgenic crown galls of Panax quinquefolium.Two region-selectively glycosylated products (AA-1 and AA-2) were obtained,involving one new compound (AA-2).Their structures were elucidated to be artemisinic acid β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (AA-1, 19.3％) and artemisinic acid β-D-glucopyranosyl-(2→l)-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (AA-2, 59.1％) by physicochemical and spectroscopic analyses.
