Chinese Pharmacopoeia (CP) is the highest national standards for the officially approved drugs in China.It has experienced more than 56 years since its first edition was launched in 1953,not long after the founding of the Peoples Republic of China.So far,eight editions of Chinese Pharmacopoeias have been launched in 1953,1963,1977,1985,1990,1995,2000 and 2005 respectively.The 9th edition 2010 of CP will soon come out.Every newer edition of CP had some new development in the quality control methods,numbers of herb,slices,extracts,or patent TCM drugs recorded.The new edition of CP is the so far most complete one,which has unique features over the previous editions.In this lecture,the characteristics of the 2010 edition will be introduced in detail.
