In the research and study of teacher feedback, much more attention has been devoted to corrective feedback.However, positive assessment pervade through interaction in an EFL classroom.In the present article, we turn to positive feedback, and in particular, calls for a reconsideration of positive feedback from teachers such as good, very good.Based on analysis of extracts of interaction between teachers and students, we find that the employment of positive feedback such as good or very good pervades in an EFL classroom, however, this kind of feedback has the potential in inhibiting the learning opportunities for students within particular pedagogical context.We arrive at the conclusion that positive feedback should be applied in a more alternative, complex and flexible way.
