The tradition chemotherapy for patients with advanced breast cancer has sever toxicity and poor curative effect.Metronomic chemotherapy is a kind of ‘low dose’ and ‘long continuous dosing’ chemotherapy which shortens the treatment of intermittent period,not only inhibits tumor growth rate,at the same time improves the life quality of cancer patients and extends the life cycle.Clinical research of metronomic chemotherapy applied in advanced breast cancer in recent five years are reviewed in this paper,the treatment effects and adverse reactions are summarized,the result shows that metronomic chemotherapy in advanced breast cancer therapy has a good prospect,might become a new method for advanced breast cancer treatment in future.
