　　Pre-mRNA splicing is an important gene expression regulation mechanism in eukaryotic cells.The PRP4 gene encode the only protein kinase involved in pre-mRNA plicing.In the fission yeast and mammals, it is an essential gene but the budding yeast lacks a distince Prp4 ortholog which has limited number of small introns.
