Sea lilies of the family Isocrinidae represent one of the main groups of crinoids in modem oceans and are todays dominant stalked crinoid group. They are able to move actively,to relocate,to detach from the substrate and later re-attach at the new site,to anchor themselves in soft bottoms as well as onto hard objects.Their vagility and substrate flexibility enable these sea lilies to colonise a wide range of habitats including softsubstrates.
