Micro aerial vehicles (MAVs) have drawn a great deal of interest in the past decade due to the advances in micro technology. Most research groups working on MAVs today based their designs on fixed, rotary or bird-like flapping wings.Among these types, fixed and flapping wing can not achieve hovering and rotary-wing MAVs response slowly although having the ability to hover[1,2].In order to combine the effectiveness of flapping and rotary motion and improve handling qualities, a new concept of micro flapping wing rotorcrafi (MFWR) was proposed and designed with electromagnetic actuator to generate active flapping combined with passive rotation.
