In recent years, Chalcogenide glasses (GhGs) have been attracting great concern for photonics owing to their high refractive indices, low phonon energies, and large nonlinearity.Furthermore, compared with other glassy systems, GhGs exhibit transparent windows occurring within the range from the visible to the far infrared region, covering the widely used atmospheric IR windows of 3-5 and 8-14 μm, which lead themselves extremely appropriate to waveguide fabrication for applications such as mid-infrared(MIR) supercontinuum (SC)generation and optical sensing.
