Trichoderma reesei is a filamentous fungus involved in degradation of (hemi) cellulosic biomass. Its corresponding enzymes are commonly used in different types of industries, and also have considerable importance for the production of second-generation biofuels (i.e."Lignocellulosic-Ethanol").The key transcription factors involved in cell wall degrading enzyme (CWDE) expression are identified; i.e.the repressor Cre1 and the transactivator Xyr1.
