The rapid developing Chinese glass industry is an important sector of international glass industry.It made great progress in aspects of industry scale, technology innovation, new products development, energy saving & emission reduction.This paper summarizes the current development of Chinese float glass industry, describes the status, technology innovation and market prospects of new glass, such as TFT-LCD substrate glass, high aluminum cover glass, touch panel glass, PV glass,energy saving glass and hollow glass microsphere;the frontier research achievement of graphene glass and nano glass was also introduced;this paper briefly presents the policies issued by Chinese government on the future development direction and energy saving & emission reduction of glass industry.It suggested a sustainable low-carbon development route featured by green manufacture technologies, green products and green application for the glass industry.
