MicroRNA (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs that post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression.Kaposis sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) is etiologically linked with Kaposis sarcoma (KS), which is a vascular tumor composed of KSHV-infected spindle cells with aberrant neovascularization and erythrocyte extravasation.KSHV encodes more than two dozens viral microRNAs (miRs) derived from 12 precursor miRs (pre-miRs).
