White LED(Light Emitting Diode)as a kind of new-style Solid-State Lighting source,possesses some technical superiorities,such as high efficiency,long life time,small size,high reliability and so on,and it will be especially adapted for Space Lighting,including plant culturing lighting,video watching lighting and living lighting.The paper studies and tests the affections to LED lighting system by space environments,such as space microgravity,drastic temperature change,irradiation of charged particles,irradiation of UV and irradiation of atomic oxygen,and presents the solutions of these problems.At last,the paper presents the successful application of LED Lighting systems in Chinese SJ-8s plant culturing and ShenZhou spacecrafts video watching.
