A periodic arrangement of localized electron which hybiidize with conduction electrons,can lead to novel phenomena such as quantum criticality[1][2] and superconductivity[3].In particular,in heavy fermion systems there is competition between the Kondo effect and the RKKY interaction which leads to a wide variery of ground states.
