Axis I comorbidity in mood disorder is highly prevalent.In a National Comorbidity Survey-Replication (NCS-R) study, more than 80% of patients with bipolar disorders had a lifetime anxiety disorder; more than 60% patients with bipolar I disorder had a lifetime history of substance use disorders; and more than 70% had a lifetime impulse control disorder.
