  A capacitance servo control plunger device based on the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift method has been successfully developed by the nuclear structure group in China Institute of Atomic Energy(CIAE)in 2012.In order to test the theoretical prediction of the prolate-oblate shape coexistence in the light Pt nuclei,we measured lifetimes of the low-lying excited states in 180Pt using our new developed plunger device.In the present experiment,excited states of 180Pt have been populated by the fusion evaporation reaction 156Gd(28Si,4n)at a beam energy of 144Mev.The beam was provided by the HI-13 Tandem accelerator in CIAE.The effective data analysis method has been developed by including all kinds of reasonable corrections.We obtained the experimental lifetimes and B(E2)values of the yrast 4+,6+,8+,10+ states.These results have also been compared with theoretical calculations using the Generator Coordinate Method(GCM).Based on these results,we have discussed the evolution of shape coexistence as spin increases.
