Energy saving, pipe protection & safety are our top priorities when dealing with a wide variety of problems in a desalination plant. With the rising concern for energy conservation, more and more research is being invested in studying the effects of air pockets on flow efficiency and energy consumption.Case studies show that air pockets have a very significant impact on these variables, especially in wastewater force mains.By reducing or preventing the accumulation of air pockets in water and wastewater transmission systems, air valves will help to reduce energy consumption in these pumped systems.Air valves can contribute to the improvement of the efficiency of the desalination plant process. The main problem, though, is the lack of knowledge and awareness of the designers and decision makers. The main issues of concern for water management worldwide-loss and leakage of water, pollution of the environment and contamination of water sources-are now being put on the agenda.Damage caused by pressure transients can create cracks and fractures in the pipeline and damage to joints.Down surges and up-surges can cause damage to membranes, fittings and seals.Air valves contribute to energy savings, lowering installation cost and to a reduction in water losses and water leakage by treating pressure transients. The installation of air valves reduces pressure transients which, in turn, reduces the vulnerability of damage to pipelines, to their connections, accessories, membranes and pumps, and contributes to lower maintenance costs. We have prepared detailed presentations, papers and articles for the water engineers and designers that explain the damages caused by pressure transients and the path to solve these problems by installing air valves. In conclusion, our mission is to raise awareness of these problems, provide explanations for the solutions that we offer and reach out to all those involved in the industry that do not fully recognize the importance of this subject.
