Objective The expression characteristics of the receptor tyrosine kinase AXL and Hippo pathway transcriptional co-activator YAP in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)were observed.The correlation between the expression of AXL and YAP,the clinical pathological factors of non-small cell lung cancer,and prognosis were studied in this paper.Method The immunohistochemistry staining method was put to use for detecting the paraffin embedded specimen of 81 patient cases whose non-small cell cancer were removed after surgery and the AXL and YAP expression situation of the 23 paracancerous lung issues cases.According to staining intensities(namely,negative,weak positive,medium positive and strong positive whose score was 0 to 3)and the proportion of positive cell staining(that were≤10%,11%-30%,31%-50%,>50%whose score was 0 to 3),when their score sum was≥3,it was judged to be the high expression of the target protein,namely,AXLHigh and YAPHigh.When that was<3,it was judged to be the low expression of the target protein,namely,AXLLow and YAPLow.Long-rank was used for the analysis of the relationship between the expression of AXL and YAP and prognosis.In addition,the Kaplan-Meier Method was also used for the survival analysis.Results The high expression rate of AXL in non-small cell lung cancer issue was 44.44%(36/81),however,that of paracancerous lung issues is 8.70%(2/23).The YAP high expression rate of the non small cell lung cancer issue was 56.79%(46/81),and the high expression rate of the paracancer issue was 13.04%(3/23).Based on AXL and YAP combinative detection,the relationship between the expression characteristics of 81 non-small cell lung cancer cases and their clinical pathological features was analyzed: AXLLowYAPLow is 29.63%,AXLHighYAPLow was 13.58%,AXLLowYAPHigh was 25.93%,and AXLHighYAPHigh was 30.86%; it was related to the degree of differentiation,T staging and pathological staging(P<0.05); but there was no statistical significance in the comparison of gender,age and histological type.By detecting AXL and YAP together,it was found that the prognosis of AXLHigh YAPHigh was worst and there was some statistical differences in the patients survive time of AXLLowYAPLow,AXLHighYAPLow,AXLLowYAPHigh and AXLHigh YAPHigh(P<0.0001).Conclusion This study analyzed the relationship between the expression of AXL and YAP and NSCLC issue types,pathological staging and degree of differentiation.Based on clinical follow-up data,this study made a combinative detection of the AXL and YAP significance in predicting the patients recurrence and assessing the long-term survival time in order to clear whether the combinative detection could be a kind of new objective index to judge NsCLC prognosis and monitor the postoperative recurrence.
