@@Due to a southward propagation of the collision between the underthrusting Eurasian continent and the NW-moving Luzon arc, marine geology off SE Taiwan not only displays the active collision tectonics but also provides a modern analog of the Coastal Range before its final arc-forearc accretion in the last 2 Ma (Fig. 1; Huang et a; 1992, 2000, 2006). Accordingly, W-E seismic profiles in the active collision zone off SE Taiwan and structural cross-sections over the Coastal Range from the south to the north would show the structural evolution of the Coastal Range.
