Many protein were found to aggregate into fibrils with highly ordered β-sheets structure,which is called amyloid fibril.The amyloid fibrils were initially observed with several disease-related proteins,but now it is regarded as a universal and intrinsic property of all proteins.Many structurally unrelated proteins and peptides were shown to self-assemble into amyloid fibrils with similar morphology and structural properties.
