Many plant genes can respond to various stresses for plant adaptation to environmental change. To identify the function of drought-and/or salt-stress tolerant candidate genes, we used T-DNA activation tagging to isolate a salt stress-tolerant (sst1) mutant under salt stress condition.T-DNA inserted between two methionine sulfoxide reductases (MsrB) genes activated the expression of both genes in sst1 and co-segregation analysis revealed that the observed phenotype of sst1 is linked to the T-DNA insertion.
