Objective: Explore and describe how systemic family therapists in China manipulate systemic family therapeutic skills and methods, to provide therapeutic methodology reference for therapeutic practice; Search for feasible research methods for the researches on change process of psychotherapy. Method: Make semi-structure interviews with four expert family therapists on systemic family therapeutic process and transcribe the interview tapes into documents, analyze the documents with thematic analysis. Get the themes reflecting the change process of systemic family therapy. Result: There are six main themes reflecting six different aspects of systemic family therapy process: systemic guiding principles, therapeutic sessions, therapeutic skills and methods, therapists’ intentions, things which must be avoided and families’ changes after therapy. The guiding principles include nine principles. The first session can be divided into three steps and there are different therapeutic affairs in different steps. The therapeutic skills and methods consist of systemic skills and normal psychotherapeutic skills. The therapists have eight different systemic therapeutic intentions. Eight problems must be avoided among the therapy. Four different kinds of changes have taken place after therapy. Conclusion: The change process can be researched with qualitative research methods. Systemic family can be described and have exact manipulating process to follow
