Municipal district expansion and built-up area expansion are two main forms in urban spatial expansion.They are so severe that attract wide attention under high-speed urbanization in China.With the help of geometric methods,the paper constructs a space-time path method to characterize the space-time relationship between municipal district expansion and built-up area expansion,thus evaluating the driving force that the former effects the latter.
