1.Introduction Increase of slow wakers in children is becoming a social problem in Japan.It is said to be not unusual recently that even elementary school children go to school without having breakfast.This situation could deteriorate their quality of learning and life in school.Dawn simulation lighting was originally developed for the treatment of seasonal affective disorder(SAD).It has been reported that dawn simulation lighting has some benefits to awakening process in healthy adults.The aim of this research is to examine effects of the dawn simulation on elementary school children in Japan and China.
