Objectives: Demineralized bone matrix(DBM)is mainly composed of collagen and bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs).Collagen is a good scaffold for the migration,adhesion of dental pulp cells and the deposition of dentine,BMPs has been reported to induce dental pulp stem cells(DSPCs)to differentiate into odontoblast-like cells.The two main components are favorable for the formation of dentin,which suggests the possibility of its application as a pulp capping material.In this study,we established an experimental model of pulpotomy in rats and observed the histological changes of pulp tissue,the formation of reparative dentin and the expression of related factors: runt transcription factor 2(Runx2),type I collagen(COLI),osteocalcin(OCN)and dentin sialoprotein(DSP),to investigate the feasibility of its application as a pulp capping material.
