Aim: Discovery of new antidepressants from traditional Chinese medicine is one of the promising field for the treatment of the major depressive disorders.Furostanol saponins (termed B3 in this study), one type of steroidal saponins of Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, were applied to the CMS-induced depressive rats, and its antidepression mechanism were also investigated by multiple discipline of techniques.
