New transportation systems representative of LRT (Light Rail Transit) are developing in cities around the world.When introducing the LRT to the city center where is featured by the high-density land use,the distribution of road space is very important because it can make the cars,public transport,bicycle and pedestrians share the road resources in a good traffic environment.Therefore,we targeted 54 cities which introduced LRT in their city centers as the object of study.With GIS and city maps,a database about the current states of LRT and the distribution of roads in these city centers can be built and the connection state between LRT and pedestrian zone and the trunk roads configuration in the central part of the city also be analyzed.
