  The experimental scorpion BmK (Buthus martensi Karsch) sting test has been demonstrated to be an available inflammatory animal pain model to understand the mechanisms of the tonic spontaneous responses,primary thermal hypersensitivity and mirror-imaged bilateral mechanical hypersensitivity.The present study was designed further to investigate the contribution of BmK I,the main peptidergic component in BmK venom,to BmK sting-induced pain-related responses.The results showed that pain-related responses induced by the intraplantar injection of BmK I well mirrored the general characteristics of those by the experimental scorpion BmK sting.
