  Piezoelectric materials are being used extensively in woven architecture to enable them the flexibility to drape over any form of substrate.These characteristics are being exploited to develop wearable technologies,energy harvesting etc.In order to enable efficient design of woven piezoelectric textile composite architecture,it is of utmost importance to determine the effective piezoelectric properties of woven textile composite.It is also required to study the dependence of property on the woven architecture.This requirement has driven the development of various micro-mechanics models.Several analytical and numerical methods have been developed for the determination of effective properties for composites.Numerical methods are predominantly based on FEM,which has been generally used with conformal meshing of the unit cells.However,for complex material architectures this becomes very time consuming.This can be overcome by adopting a voxel based technique to automate the grid generation process.Voxel based technique has also been used to predict thermo-mechanical properties;however,series of finite element analyses (FEAs) are required to find the response of the cell to loads.Most of the methods mentioned above have been extended to predict coupled physical properties like thermo-elastic properties.
