In China,there are over 60 long-span trussed combination arch bridge constructed from 1981.But now about half of them are damaged to some degree after over 20years service.Some unexpected design and construction faults gradually appear and greatly weaken the structural performance and durability.These bridges need either to be structurally stiffened or degraded regarding their load-carrying capacity.
