A new method was established for determining the contents of ephedrine hydrochloride in ephedrine hydrichloride and nitrofurazone nasal drops by ion chromatography (IC) [1].It employed a Universal Cation 7u column (lOOmm×4.6mm) and a mobile phase of 6.4mmol/L of nitric acid and 6% of acetonitrile at a flow rate of 1.5ml/min.The results show that the liner range of ephedrine hydrochloride [2,3] was 10~200μg/mL,R2=0.9963,and RSD was less than 4.32%.The average recovery was 99.65%.This method was found to be simple, quick and accurate for determination of the ephedrine hydrochloride in ephedrine hydrichloride and nitrofurazone nasal drops,so it can be applied to the content determination and quality control of pharmaceutical preparations of ephedrine hydrochloride.
