An investigation was conducted on bromate reduction by carbon-based ruthenium catalyst (abbreviated as Ru/AC).The effects of the calcination temperature, calcination time,, Ru loading and Ru precursor were studied on the catalysis of bromate reduction. Results show that the optimal preparation condition was achieved with calcination temperature of 500℃, calcination time of 2h, reactant gas of N2, Ru loading of 0.1% and precursors of RuCl3·5H2O.Under the optimal preparation condition, bromate (1.6μmol/L) could be completely removed by using Ru/AC while less than 50% by virgin carbon.
