Aim:Biglycan is a small extracellular matrix proteoglycan and is composed of a 40kDa core protein that is substituted with two glycosaminoglycan chains on N-terminal Ser-Gly sites.Biglycan deficient mice are resistant to trabecular bone loss induced estrogen depletion,but Biglycan overexpression in MC3T3-E1 cells can accelerate cell differentiation and matrix mineralization.
