  Microbial evolution engineering is of importance for creating powerful and robust microbial strains for bioindustry.ARTP (Atmospheric and Room Temperature Plasma) is expected to be a promising rapid genome mutation tool for evolution engineering with the advantages of convenient operations and low capital costs due to the removal of the complicated and expensive vacuum system and mild plasma temperature.In this study, ARTP was used to mutate different microbial cells from fungi to bacteria.
