偶氮苯分子在特定波长光照下会从反式构型转变到亚稳态的顺式构型,在光、热等外界刺激下又会回复到反式结构,并以热能的形式释放能量,从而完成一个光储热循环.但是传统偶氮苯存在理论储能容量低、半衰期短且光稳定性较差等缺点,极大限制了其在光储热领域的应用.
