  Jet fuels are major components of liquid transportation fuels and are widely used in aircrafts and nonaircraft platforms such as tanks,power generator and other ground vehicles.Generally,jet fuels consist of hundreds of chemical components from multiple classes.Due to the the complexity nature of jet fuels,a surrogate fuel component has been accepted to emulate the parent fuel and reduce the size of practical fuel models.Aromatic components are significant constituents of surrogate mixture formations emulating some combustion behavior of liquid transportation fuels.Among the aromatics,1,3,5-trimethylbenzene(TMB)has been chosen as the representative of the surrogate fuel formulations for aviation gas turbine and diesel type fuels.
