Genome-wide association study (GWAS) is a theoretically feasible method in finding disease-associated locus.More than 100 complex diseases and traits have been studied by GWAS and numerous susceptible genes/locus were identified in the past five years.However, only a small portion of the heritable risk for common diseases can be explained by the variants identified from current GWAS, which focus on common variants.
