Ongoing and planned genomic research in the peanut community should lead to the development of additional molecular markers that will be useful in peanut cultivar development. However, to achieve this, much work will need to be done to associate these genetic markers with important phenotypic traits.Phenotyping will need to be conducted in appropriate populations.
