  Porous materials with novel intrinsic properties such as high specific surface area, excellent porosity and good thermal stability have potential applications in gas storage and separation,1 optical devices, heterogeneous catalysis, etc. Covalently–linked porous polymers have attracted specific interest because their structures and properties are easily tuned through rational design. By selecting the ideal building blocks and proper chemical reactions, an excellent porous polymer can be efficiently produced. Usually, functional building blocks with rigid structures are selected to form stable pores in the crosslinked polymer, which prevent the skeleton from collapsing. In addition, the functional building blocks could endow the porous material with many novel properties.
