Maize stalk rot is a widespread soil-borne disease in corn production areas around the world, leading to 10% to 15% loss in yield per year.To clarify population composition and distribution of the causative pathogen Fusarium (Fusarium spp.) in Sichuan, China, in this study, 164 samples of corn stalk rot were collected in 2013-2014 in different regions of Sichuan including Chengdu, Yaan, Mianyang and other ecological regions, and 94 strains were obtained by single spore separation, and pathogenicity of these strains were tested according to Kochs postulates.
