China has two advantages in new drug R&D from medicinal natural products.One is the rich resource of medicinal plants.There are 12807 natural products used as folk medicine in China,most of which are plants(11146,87%).The other is the precious clinical experiences in using these medicinal materials that come from numerous deaths and pains of Chinese in fighting with diseases during the past thousands of years.200-300 of these medicinal materials are optimized as commonly used Traditional Chinese Medicine.
