  Unique to mammals,the mammary gland develops 90%of its mass after birth and experiences the pregnancylactation-involution cycle(PL cycle)in reproduction.To understand the mechanism of mammogenesis at the transcriptomic level and using a ribo-minus RNA-seq protocol,we acquired greater than 50 million reads each for the mouse mammary gland in pregnancy(12d),lactation(14d),and involution(7d),which are assembled into 17,344,10,160 and 13,739 protein-coding transcripts as well as 1,803,828,and 1,288 ncRNAs for the three developmental stages,respectively.
