Postharvest losses of fruit and vegetables cause huge economic losses every year.Our recent studies indicate that accumulation of anthocyanins in tomato fruit not only has health-promoting effect [1],but also significantly extends shelf life by delaying overripening process and reduce susceptibility to fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea [2,3].
