Background The diagnosis and management of nonconvulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) pose particular challenges in childhood.NCSE has been defined as a cognitive or behavioral change that lasts for at least 30 minutes, with evidence of seizures on electroencephalogram (EEG).NCSE is a heterogeneous clinical condition that is thought to be under-recognized and under-studied in the pediatric population.Objectives To retrospectively analyze the clinical characteristics, electroencephalographic features brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, antiepileptic therapy and prognosis of a pediatric case series with NCSE.
