@@ Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) accumulates a lot of starch in its storage roots that can be processed to food, feed, modified starches and bio-fuels. The high yield potential and robustness against unfavorable environmental conditions make cassava suitable crop for marginal lands, which will not highly compete with other food crops on arable lands.
