  The aim of the study was analysis of significance of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and selected antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) in estimation of risk of atherosclerosis development in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).The presence of atherosclerotic disorders was evaluated using selected noninvasive imaging methods: intima-media thickness measurement (IMT) in B-mode ultrasound estimation, assessement of high resistance index (HRI) in duplex Doppler examination and ankle-brachial index (ABI) measurement in Doppler estimation.
