A microbial fuel cell(MFC)and bioelectrochemical systems are novel bioprocess which employ exoelectrogenic biofilm on electrode as a biocatalyst for electricity generation and various useful chemical production.Published paper show that electrogenic microorganism of biofilm of MFCs are time varying systems and dynamically interactive with the electrically conductive media(carbon felt as terminal electron acceptor).However,lowpower density and difficulty to apply on field scale process have been drawbacks for MFCs scale-up and application.
